Are there any specialized Section 8 HCVs?

Special voucher programs

Some Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher programs are available only to people who meet additional eligibility requirements or are referred by a partner agency.

  • Family Unification Program (FUP): For families involved with the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
  • Foster Youth to Independence (FYI): For youth ages 18 through 24 who are transitioning from foster care.
  • Mainstream Housing Opportunities Program for Persons with Disabilities: For eligible people with disabilities.
  • Nursing Facility Transition Preference (MFP): For eligible people with disabilities who are moving from nursing facilities to rental housing.
