Connecticut Behavioral Health Provider Pays $273k to Settle Improper Billing Allegations
Attorney General William Tong and Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut Leonard C. Boyle today announced that Today’s Youth LLC and its owners, Maurice Stuckey and Joyce Anderson, have entered into a civil settlement agreement with the federal and state governments in which they will pay $273,000 to resolve allegations that they caused overpayments to be paid by the Connecticut Medicaid Program.

Attorney General Tong Announces $739,759 Settlement with Manchester Pediatric Associates Over False Medicaid Billing
Attorney General William Tong today announced a $739,759.52 Connecticut False Claims Act settlement with Manchester Pediatric Associates, LLC (MPA), and its owner, Dr. Swathanthra Melekote to resolve allegations that MPA submitted false and fraudulent claims between January 2015 and May 2021 that resulted in overbilling the Connecticut Medicaid program.

Attorney General Tong Urges FDA to Protect Children from Toxic Metals in Baby Food
Attorney General William Tong today joined a coalition of 20 attorneys general petitioning the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to protect the health and well-being of babies across the United States by accelerating actions to remove toxic heavy metals found in infant and toddler foods. The petition responds to rising alarm about the health hazards posed by dangerous heavy metals in these foods, and the failure of baby food brands and their suppliers to aggressively reduce these hazards.

Attorney General Tong Announces $26 Billion Agreement With Opioid Distributors/Manufacturer
Attorney General William Tong today announced an historic $26 billion agreement with pharmaceutical distributors Cardinal, McKesson, and AmerisourceBergen and manufacturer Johnson & Johnson to bring desperately needed resources to fight the opioid crisis. Connecticut will receive approximately $300 million as part of the landmark settlement.
