It’s missing required information
We will reject a complaint if required information is missing, including:
- The judge's name
- The docket number, if available
- The date the alleged misconduct happened
Your complaint is not notarized
You must sign your complaint under oath before a notary public or commissioner of the Superior Court.
Your complaint was filed too late
You must file your complaint within one year of the date the alleged misconduct happened.
Your complaint is outside our authority
We review complaints only against judges, family support magistrates, and administrative law judges.
We reject complaints about:
- Retired judges
- Probate matters
- Small claims matters
- Attorneys
- Court clerks
Your complaint includes inappropriate language
Keep your complaint respectful and focused on the facts. We reject complaints that contain abusive or inappropriate language.
