Affirmative action supports fair opportunity in state jobs. CHRO leads this work by monitoring state agencies’ practices and reviewing state agency affirmative action plans. These plans help agencies find and address barriers to equal employment.

Affirmative action has existed in Connecticut for more than half a century.
