  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection released the following statements on President Trump’s new coal pollution rule, which rolls back Obama-era protections.

• 8/15/2018 CT Fire Crew Members Departing for Western States to Assist U.S. Forest Service in Fighting Fires

  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced that five members of the Connecticut fire crew will be departing 2:00 p.m. today (August 15th) from DEEP Eastern District Headquarters, 209 Hebron Road, Marlborough to assist the U.S. Forest Service in fighting wildfires in western states.

  Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is forecasting air quality along Connecticut’s coast will be Unhealthy today, August 6, 2018 and ozone levels across interior Connecticut will be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG).

• 8/2/2018 Gov. Malloy and Public Health Officials Advise Residents of Increased West Nile Virus Activity this Season

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and state public health officials are advising Connecticut residents to be aware of a rapid build-up of West Nile virus (WNV) activity within the state as recent tests show that infected mosquitoes are rising at levels higher than normal for this time of year.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has committed the State of Connecticut to join the Powering Past Coal Alliance – a coalition of countries, regions, states, and businesses that are committed to phasing out traditional coal power and placing a moratorium on new traditional coal power stations.
