Connecticut Joins Bi-Partisan Multi-State Effort to Green Truck Fleets
Connecticut took another significant step forward in its effort to address the climate crisis and the health impacts of air pollution today as it joined 14 other states and the District of Columbia in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work collaboratively to advance and accelerate the market for electric medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

DEEP to Renew Stakeholder Engagement on Bottle Bill Implementation
(HARTFORD) — The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is seeking public input on the implementation of recent and upcoming changes to Connecticut’s Bottle Bill, and will be holding a public meeting on this process on Monday, July 24 at 1 p.m. In order to maximize transparency and engagement with all stakeholders interested in Bottle Bill implementation, DEEP will convene a Bottle Bill Advisory Group that will meet regularly in coming months.

DEEP Reports Small Die-off in Local White-tailed Deer Herd
Since early September, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Wildlife Division has documented in more than 50 white-tailed deer exhibiting symptoms associated with Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHDV-6), primarily in the towns of Middletown and Portland, with a few in Chester, Haddam, and Lyme.

DEEP Accepting Applications for Microgrid Projects Grants and Loans Available to Provide Power to Critical Facilities
Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) today announced that funding is now available for a new round of microgrid projects aimed at providing power for critical facilities – such as municipal government public safety and wastewater treatment facilities as well as grocery stores, hospitals, cell phone towers, and buildings serving as shelter – during times when the electric grid goes down.

DEEP Launches Electric Vehicle Roadmap
Coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has issued its Electric Vehicle Roadmap for Connecticut (EV Roadmap), a comprehensive strategy for achieving widespread deployment of electric vehicles in the state, and a key tool in the state’s effort to improve air quality for residents while also addressing the climate crisis.

Migratory Bird Hunting Season Dates Set
Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) today announced the dates for the 2017-2018 migratory bird hunting seasons, which include seasons for ducks, geese, woodcock, snipe, rails, and crows. Specific details on season dates, bag limits, regulations, and other reminders are published in the 2017-2018 Migratory Bird Hunting Guide, which is available at www.ct.gov/deep/hunting.
