Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is forecasting our air quality will be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) for the New Haven coastal area through Northeastern Connecticut on Wednesday May 17, 2017 and for most of the State on Thursday May 18, 2017 – which would be the first unhealthy air day for the 2017 ozone season.

DEEP and CAES Discover an Established Population of Lone Star Ticks Along Coastal Connecticut
Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES) report that a heavy population of the lone star tick, Amblyomma americanum, has been detected at Manresa Island (former Norwalk Harbor Station) in South Norwalk, Connecticut, marking the first known established reproducing population in the State.

DEEP Launches Resource Assessment in Response to Executive Order 59
Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) have launched a joint process that will lead to a study of the current and projected future viability of the Millstone nuclear generating facilities, the role of such facilities as well as others in meeting Connecticut’s carbon and other emission targets, and mechanisms to achieve those targets.
