• 11/21/2017 Protect Connecticut’s Cherished Wildlife Habitat - Purchase a Connecticut Migratory Bird Conservation Stamp

  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced today that Connecticut Migratory Bird Conservation (Duck) Stamps can now be bought through the Online Sportsmen Licensing System (www.ct.gov/deep/SportsmenLicensing) by individuals interested in supporting the conservation and purchase of wetland habitats in Connecticut.

• 11/20/2017 Gov. Malloy Announces $13.6 Million in Funding to Remediate and Revitalize Blighted Properties in Connecticut

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that $13.6 million in state funding will be awarded to 14 municipalities across Connecticut to assess, remediate and revitalize blighted properties in their communities – also known as “brownfields” – and put them back into productive use.

  Connecticut has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court, District of Connecticut against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for failure to take timely action on a petition from Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) asking the EPA to take action to stop pollution from a Pennsylvania coal-fired power plant from blowing our way.

  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) today announced that a recently-discovered die-off of several deer in the Portland area may be due to hemorrhagic disease, which is one of the most important infectious diseases affecting white-tailed deer.

  In a contest filled with great artwork, a panel of judges recently selected world renowned and Connecticut artist Chet Reneson’s depiction of a pair of surf scoters flying at the mouth of the Connecticut River with the Saybrook Jetty and Lighthouse in the background as the winner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s (DEEP) 2017-2018 Connecticut Migratory Bird Conservation (Duck) Stamp Art Contest.

• 8/3/2017 DEEP Bans Alcohol at Gardner Lake State Park, Salem 90-Day Ban Takes Effect This Saturday - August 5

  Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has temporarily banned the possession and consumption of alcohol at Gardner Lake State Park, Salem – effective this Saturday – to improve management of that park and address public safety issues there.
