Lt. Governor Wyman Announces $5,200 Donation To Operation Elf
Today, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman commended New Britain’s Schaller Auto World and the New Britain Bees on a partnership that raised $5,200 for Operation E.L.F. (Embracing Lonely Families), an initiative through the Connecticut Military Department that supports Connecticut’s military families in the deployment cycle. Established in 2001, Operation ELF offers assistance throughout the year to families facing the financial strain of active duty.

Gov. Malloy And Lt. Gov. Wyman Urge Congress To Reject Concealed Carry Reciprocity Legislation
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman are urging the U.S. House of Representatives to reject the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, which is currently pending before Congress and would allow more dangerous criminals and untrained individuals to carry loaded, hidden guns in public places by forcing states with strong concealed carry laws to honor permits from states with weak or non-existent standards.

Lt. Governor Wyman, CT National Guard Celebrate Military Families At Operation Elf Holiday Party
Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman and Major General Thad Martin, Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard, today joined military families from across the state at the 16th annual Operation ELF (Embracing Lonely Families) holiday party. Established in 2001, Operation ELF helps lessen the financial stresses facing military families who are called to active duty and are in the deployment cycle.

Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Acting Commissioner Thomas J. Saadi, and Major General Thaddeus Martin, Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard, today inducted eleven veterans into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame. Established in 2005, the Veterans Hall of Fame recognizes the continued service of Connecticut veterans who have made significant contributions to their communities after leaving military service.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Receives $2.6 Million to Assist State's Efforts In Processing And Testing Of Sexual Assault Kits
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has been awarded two competitive, federal grants worth $2.6 million that will assist in the state’s efforts to improve the processing and testing of sexual assault evidence kits. The grants come to the state as part of the ongoing work of the Governor’s Sexual Assault Kit Working Group, which Governor Malloy formed in 2016 to assist in the standardization and advancement in testing evidence kits by the Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory.

Malloy today announced that the state’s recently expanded CTtransit bus route providing UConn students, faculty, and staff the ability to connect – for the first time ever – to the main UConn campus in Storrs, the downtown Hartford UConn campus, and UConn Health in Farmington via public transit is experiencing a surge in ridership, having served over 32,000 passenger trips since its launch on August 13.
