Gov. Malloy Signs Legislation Protecting Survivors of Domestic Violence, Closing Critical Public Safety Loophole
Governor Dannel P. Malloy has signed into law a legislative proposal he introduced earlier this year that is designed to protect the victims of domestic violence by prohibiting the possession of firearms for anyone who becomes subject to a temporary restraining order.

Tuesday: Lt. Governor Wyman Attends Housing Groundbreaking in Hartford, Speaks at Military Send-Off Ceremony
Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman will join Connecticut Department of Housing Commissioner Evonne Klein at the Hands on Hartford groundbreaking ceremony. The Hands on Hartford community center is making renovations to bring supportive housing, meal service, job training, and other programs under one roof. The Housing Department invested $950,000 in the project.

Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman will attend the annual Connecticut Department of Labor Heroes for Hire Career Fair. This event is expected to attract around 1200 veterans and more than 90 Connecticut employers-and provides education, health, and other resources for veterans.

Thursday: Lt. Governor Wyman Chairs Early Childhood Cabinet
Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman will co-chair the quarterly meeting of the Connecticut Early Childhood Cabinet with Office of Early Childhood Commissioner Myra Jones-Taylor. The Cabinet will address homelessness in families with young children and link efforts to ongoing work to end chronic homelessness by the end of 2016.
