  (HARTFORD, CT) — The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is pleased to announce that the State of Connecticut is making several million dollars in grant funds and technical assistance available to Connecticut municipalities and regional waste authorities to support sustainable materials management (SMM) efforts in direct response to the solid waste disposal crisis that Connecticut municipalities are facing.

• 7/19/2022 DEEP Announces Availability of $4 Million in VW Settlement Funding For Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure

  (HARTFORD)— The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is pleased to announce that up to $4 million is being made available for public and private entities to purchase and install light-duty Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). This funding is part of DEEP’s Diesel Emissions Mitigation Program to reduce transportation related air pollution from light duty gasoline and diesel vehicles, funded through a 2018 settlement between the federal Environmental Protection Agency and Volkswagen for violations of the Clean Air Act.

  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s (DEEP) State Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon), with the assistance of Meriden Police, on Thursday, April 26, 2018 served a search and seizure warrant at 22 Westfield Rd. Meriden, CT after information was obtained from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regarding an advertisement on a snake forum for the sale of several venomous snakes.
