Gov. Malloy, AG Jepsen Remind Coaches, Parents to Beware Sports-related Concussion Signs and Symptoms
With the fall school sports season upon us, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Attorney General George Jepsen are reminding student athletes, parents and coaches that head injuries and concussions are serious and that Connecticut law requires students who suffer a blow to the head or receive a concussion diagnosis to sit out games and practices until cleared by a licensed medical professional.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Attorney General George Jepsen and UConn President Susan Herbst released the following statements today following approval of a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorneys’ Office and Conopco, Inc. (better known as Unilever) in a matter involving Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

Connecticut Joins National Settlement Resolving Allegations of Off-label Marketing of Rapamune
Attorney General George Jepsen, Chief State’s Attorney Kevin T. Kane and Department of Social Services Commissioner Roderick L. Bremby today announced that Connecticut has joined with other states and the federal government in a settlement with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to resolve allegations of off-label marketing of the immunosuppressive drug, Rapamune.

Attorney General: Connecticut Joins 21 States in Partial Settlement with Tobacco Companies
Attorney General George Jepsen announced that Connecticut has joined 21 other states in a partial settlement with the major tobacco companies of a dispute dating from 2006 regarding payments to the states under the 1998 tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (MSA).

Attorney General: Connecticut Homeowners Continue To Benefit from National Mortgage Foreclosure Settlement
Attorney General George Jepsen said Connecticut’s distressed homeowners continue to benefit from first lien principal reductions and other mortgage relief programs resulting from the $25 billion national mortgage foreclosure settlement announced last year.
