There is a text message scam that looks like an official CT.gov page, but it is not. There are no tolls in Connecticut and the State of Connecticut will never ask you to pay a toll fee.

Public Information Meeting on Replacement Route 67 over South Branch Bullet Hill Brook in Southbury

7/25/2025

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a in-person public information meeting concerning the replacement of Bridge No. 02437 carrying Route 67 (Southford Road) over South Branch Bullet Hill Brook in Southbury on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Room 205A at Southbury Town Hall at 501 Main Street South in Southbury at 7:00 p.m. The meeting facility is ADA accessible.

The meeting will also be livestreamed on the Southbury's town website, and the recording will be posted following the meeting on their video archives page.

The public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation. For more information, please visit portal.ct.gov/DOTSouthburyPP0130-0025.

“This project will remove the temporary bridge and install a permanent structure that will improve safety for all roadway users by addressing sight line concerns, widen shoulders, and improve the flow of traffic by eliminating the existing traffic signal,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Jonathan Kempf. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”

The right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements are temporary to town-owned property to allow for channel reconstruction and construction staging.

Construction is anticipated to begin summer 2027 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $7 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.

Language assistance may be requested by contacting the CTDOT Language Assistance Call Line (860) 594-2109. Requests should be made at least five business days prior to the meeting. Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public and efforts will be made to respond to timely requests for assistance.

Members of the public can submit comments and questions during the two-week public comment period following the meeting. Please submit comments and questions by Tuesday, September 23, 2025, to DOTProjectPP130-25@ct.gov or (860) 594-2020, or Jonathan Kempf at Jonathan.kempf@ct.gov or (860) 594-3308. Please reference Project No. PP130-0025 in the email or voicemail.
