• Codes Amendment Subcommittee

  Established pursuant to section 29-251-7b of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, the Code Amendment Subcommittee (a subcommittee of the Codes and Standards Committee) works with staff from the Offices of the State Building Inspector and State Fire Marshal to develop State Building and Fire Safety Codes.

• Office of Education and Data Management Conference for CBOA/CFMA

  The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) hosts The Connecticut Building Officials Association (CBOA)/Connecticut Fire Marshals Association (CFMA) Conference, which provides training on code-related topics that are timely and relevant to both groups.

• Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) Online Training

  Starting in 2017, The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) will provide online code training for building and fire officials, and design and trades professionals. For individuals credentialed through OEDM, completion of our online training will count toward your continuing education credit hours.

• Office of Education and Data Management Design and Trades Conference

  OEDM offers a variety of code training options for individuals in the design and construction industries.

• DAS Construction Contractor Prequalification Program

  The DAS Contractor Prequalification (PreQual) Program requires all contractors to prequalify before they can bid on a construction project estimated to cost more than $1,000,000.

• State Building Code - BOCA National Building Code Interpretations

  Index of BOCA National Building Code Interpretations by the State Building Inspector from 1999 to Present.

• Code Training and Education Fund Board of Control

  The Code Training and Education Board of Control approves the fiscal year budget of the Office of Education and Data Management OEDM), which carries out the credentialing functions of the Office of the State Building Inspector and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

• Office of State Fire Marshal

  Connecticut’s State Fire Marshal's is within the Department of Administrative Services. OSFM is responsible for promulgating and enforcing codes, standards and regulations to reduce the harm associated with fires, explosions, and mechanical failures.

• Building Code Training Council

  The Building Code Training Council is an advisory council to OEDM regarding training for building code enforcement officials.

• Codes and Standards Committee

  Pursuant to the requirements of Connecticut General Statutes § 29-252, the State Building Inspector and the Codes and Standards Committee (CAS) are responsible for adoption of a State Building Code based on a nationally recognized model building code.

• List of Fire Marshals by Jurisdiction

  The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) maintains a list of Fire Marshals currently appointed to each jurisdiction. The list is in alphabetical order by the name of the municipality.

• Building Code Enforcement Officials Exam Schedules, Applications, Study Materials, and Testing Policies

  The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) administers all aspects of the credentialing exams for the Office of the State Building Inspector, including the tests for the Pre-Licensure Training Program and the licensure exams offered each quarter (Quarterly Exams).
